Recent Distractions from Writing

I've been asked before, "What do you do when you're not writing?"

The long answer involves a laundry-list of chores required to maintain a homestead filled with two kids, three cats, a rambunctious chocolate Lab, one elderly horse and two hens and a rooster. Oh, and the hubby, don't want to forget him. Thinking about all that makes me tired... so I typically result to Plan B: Reading.

Here's what's been distracting me from real-world problems lately!

Claimed by the AlphasClaimed by the Alphas by Viola Rivard

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love this compelling, spicy series. What strikes me as most interesting about it (other than the scorching heat level and the menage, of course) is that the author has done an excellent job building a world where the plot seems possible and naturally evolving. There are details, sparsely planted throughout this and the other books in the series, that lend to the overall refreshing story line.

I don't want to give too much away, and I've got four more books in the series to review... but the fact that I read them all back to back and had to download one as soon as I was done with the last one should speak volumes!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spicy, steamy, complex and satisfying. This second book in the Claimed by the Alphas series, is all that and more. The tension and heat keeps ratcheting skyward, the characters are evolving and revealing their personalities, and I found myself tearing through this book just to get to the next one.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love, love, love this series! Onward to the next book!

Claimed by the Alphas: Part FourClaimed by the Alphas: Part Four by Viola Rivard

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodness, this series is taking me on a ride. I adore the characters and the care that the author has taken in developing such a fabulous world for this series. The writing itself ain't too shabby either :-)

I'm not sure what to expect with the next book, and that's half the fun of it. I devoured the first four books as I can't wait for the next one to come out. It better be soon... I need my Alphas fix!

And wouldn't you know it, I just found the newest release- Part Five-- is available and now sitting patiently on my Kindle Fire, ready and waiting for the weekend!

He's loved her for thousands of years, but in this lifetime she doesn't remember him... yet.

This prequel to the first episode of the Crow series is focused on giving readers a glimpse into one of Pia's past lives and to show Beylin hard at work as a Memory Stealer and Soul Bearer.

Series Info:  Cassiopeia "Pia" Alexander is just your typical college student. She can't pick a major, her love life is virtually non-existent and the only thing good in her life seems to be her job as an Animal ER Nurse. Even that doesn't feel like enough, though.

Beylin Callaghan is one of the Brotherhood tasked to give souls a winged-ride from one life to the next, and to remove the memories from each soul so that they can start with a fresh slate in their new incarnations.  But he's keeping a secret-- a secret that when exposed, will bind Pia's fate to his own. For better or worse.

Crow: The Prequel is novella length (approx. 10,000 words) and is the first installment in this new adult fantasy series. Subsequent episodes will be released on a monthly basis and fans are encouraged to visit Alex's website to influence the outcome of the overall story.
