This girl is on Fy-yer. Even though episode two of the Crow series isn't due for another few weeks, I managed to get it out way earlier.
First time in my life I've actually been early for something :-)
Check out the matching jewel-tone covers too.
@ Amazon now:
Crow: Episode One
Crow: Episode Two
As the part of Amazon Select, both episodes are only available through Amazon right now. But don't fret if your e-reader takes another format... the series is DRM free, so you can convert the file over to something usable for your device.
About the Crow series:
Cassiopeia "Pia" Alexander is just your typical college student.
She can't pick a major, her love life is virtually non-existent and the
only thing good in her life seems to be her job as an Animal ER Nurse.
Even that doesn't feel like enough, though.
Beylin Callaghan
is one of the Brotherhood tasked to give souls a winged-ride from one
life to the next, and to remove the memories from each soul so that they
can start with a fresh slate in their new incarnations.
But he's keeping a secret-- a secret that when exposed, will bind Pia's fate to his own. For better or worse.

Announcing My New Series (New Adult Fantasy)- CROW!
On a bad note, it's late Sunday night. Which means for many of us, tomorrow is Monday yet again.
I have news though, that I hope will brighten your day just a little bit!
While book two of the Blood Chord series is with my editor, I started working on another series called CROW. It's a little bit of a departure for me, as a New Adult fantasy with elements of reincarnation, history, celestial birds, light romance, and who knows what else (I'll get to that part in a minute) -- so no fangs this time guys.
For the Crow series, I've decided to release novella-length works at a much faster pace. To give myself a little bit of wiggle room and to give readers time to weigh in with their opinions (and thus influence the story arc) I've committed to a new episode release every month, but I'm shooting for every 2-3 weeks. When the series is complete (in seven episodes, or maybe nine) I'll bundle the complete set up with a heaping-helping of bonus material and release the complete collection as well.
Now, here's a little about Crow:

Crow: Episode One is novella length (approx. 9,000 words) and is the first installment in this new adult fantasy series. Subsequent episodes will be released on a monthly basis and fans are encouraged to visit Alex's website to influence the outcome of the overall story.
And the best news of all? Crow: Episode One is live on Amazon! Check it out!

It's Friday, and Other Things That Make Me Smile
Whew, it's been such a long week month and all I can say it that I'm glad it's Friday. I wish I could say that I have absolutely nothing to do this weekend other than lounge around, but alas, being a grown-up comes with five million things to accomplish.
Anyway, I wanted to share some things that make me smile (other than Friday afternoons). Have a great weekend everyone!

Radio Silence & Book Review
Sorry I've been AWOL for a while. We moved to a farm house right before Christmas and things still haven't settled down.
Oh, and I'm still lacking internet at home too :-(
A gal can only do so much from a tiny phone, ya' know?
Anyway, just wanted to stop in and let everyone know that in my internet silence, I have been working on the next Blood Chord series book, and I hope to have it into your waiting hands soon!
Meanwhile, here's a great book I just finished reading:
The Scarlet Dagger by Krystle Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Exciting, first book in a UF/ post-apocolyptic type vampire series. Clean enough for teens, but compelling enough for adults as well. I liked the author's crisp, witty style of writing and found the setting fairly inventive and creative. The author's take on vampire mythology was fairly unique too. Having a kick-arse heroine in the novel doesn't hurt either :-)
All in all, a worthy read. I will certainly download the second one sometime today, so I can see where Book 2 takes me!

From my Reading List
I'm on a self-admitted reading binge right now. Something about this time of year makes me want to curl up on the couch with a downy quilt and a stack of books. So much so that I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for the days when an actual stack of books sat on my bedside table just waiting for me.
At any rate, here's what I've been devouring over the last few days!
Death's Hand by S. M. Reine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A compelling novel, with tight writing, crisp action and cutting originality. I love the paranormal aspects of it and the cast of characters is lively. Will read more by this author!

Dirty Blood by Heather Hildenbrand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Quirky and interesting YA paranormal. Well, written with enough mystery to keep you reading. Solid start to a series and I'll go on to read the next book most likely.

The Bellhound Four Tales of Modern Magic by Camille LaGuire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This story collection is a wonderful glimpse into the author's writing style. I found the stories wholly original, perfectly executed, and fabulously inventive. I will certainly seek out longer works by this author!

A Job From Hell by Jayde Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
There are several things I adored about this novel...
The word-building between the different factions was so much fun to delve into. The premise of the game was unique and compelling. I loved several of the characters: the unwitting brother (reminded me of Zander from Buffy), the daughter of the Devil, the creepy woman child, oh, and so much more.
I wasn't as enamored by the Vamps, and didn't quite "get" the love connection made, but overall it wasn't enough to overshadow the rest of the book's redeeming qualities. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Authors Bewitch Readers With Halloween Ebook Sale
More than thirty horror authors are coming together this Halloween to offer book lovers a bewitching deal on almost fifty witch-themed ebooks on October 30, 31, & November 1, 2012. Bargain hunting readers will find that a spell has been cast, magically lowering sale prices, which will range from free to $2.99 with the majority of ebooks being sold for 99 cents. The complete list of participating authors and their books featuring witches, warlocks, and other seasonally appropriate creatures is available at WitchyEbooks.Blogspot.com and includes links to the ebooks on retail sites.
Although their books share a similar witchy theme, the cauldron-stirring group of authors has approached the subject many different ways, from frightening to fun and from historical to hysterical. Some authors crossed genres, mixing romantic comedy with their witchcraft while others stuck to traditional hard core horror featuring evil witches. Assorted demons, vampires, ghosts, and zombies appear in various books as well.
The promotional idea originated with author E. L. Sarnoff who was looking for a way to work with other authors to cross-promote witch-themed novels and short stories during the month of October. Other writers immediately responded with enthusiasm and ideas including Vera Nazarian who summed up what many in the group felt when she said, "We are gonna rock Halloween!"
Author Alex Owens offered the use of her blog address, WitchyEbooks.Blogspot.com, which thanks to the fact that she gets "goose-pimply with excitement over anything and everything paranormal" she had already dedicated to "featuring all the Fantabulously Freaky witch books" that she could find. Writer Cate Dean took the lead in compiling all the evolving information on each author's books including, title, link, blurb, and sale price.
So what are you waiting for?
